Indigenous way of knowledge, worldview, and culture embedded in Indigenous languages matter not only Indigenous communities but also entire society in the sense of sustainability.
However, it has been eroded by assimilation and colonization by the federal government in Canada. To rebuild their identity and knowledge system, many Indigenous communities have worked on Indigenous language revitalization (ILR).
This research aims to contribute to supporting Indigenous language revitalization (ILR) programs led by the Indigenous communities by analyzing the value, success, and challenges of ILR in the Six Nations of the Grand River (SNGR). Further, it explores the potential that their knowledge system contributes to the agri-food system.
