CAREE 2026 | Reflections, Recommendations, and Strengthening Extension and Advisory Services 🌱

The CAREE 2026 Symposium continues with an interactive afternoon focused on reflecting on key insights, sharing perspectives, and identifying practical recommendations to strengthen Canada’s Extension and Advisory Services (EAS).

The Tabletop Discussion: Reflections and Recommendations, moderated by Janice LeBoeuf, brings participants together to exchange ideas, reflect on the day’s conversations, and explore opportunities to build more integrated, responsive, and inclusive agricultural advisory systems.

Building on earlier discussions about farmer decision-making, on-farm realities, and the adoption of beneficial management practices, participants are invited to consider how research, knowledge, and advisory support can better connect with the diverse needs of farming communities across Canada.

The discussion will be followed by Reporting and Open Discussion: Strengthening EAS, providing a platform to share key takeaways, identify common priorities, and discuss recommendations for the future of extension and advisory services.

These collaborative sessions are an important part of CAREE’s broader goal of fostering a shared vision for EAS in Canada—one that bridges sectoral divides, supports whole-farm decision-making, promotes equity and inclusion, and strengthens connections among researchers, farmers, advisors, and institutions.

By bringing diverse voices to the table, CAREE 2026 aims to turn dialogue into actionable insights and collective recommendations for a more connected, equitable, and resilient agricultural and agri-food system.

From shared reflections to collective action, strengthening Canada’s Extension and Advisory Services starts with working together.
